Education, lifelong learning and employability

St Mary’s Kenmure provides full time education, delivering National Qualifications across all areas of the curriculum to learners aged 12 to 18.

Our School

All young people engage in learning in literacy, numeracy, health and wellbeing and independent living skills. Our younger pupils, in the Broad General Education, enjoy the breadth of Curriculum for Excellence through a range of subjects and wider achievement opportunities.

Senior phase pupils benefit from increased personalisation, choice and depth; supporting them to develop the skills required for further learning, life and work.

We promote wider achievement by supporting our young people to engage with Personal Development and Personal Achievement Awards, many of our young people achieving Bronze, Silver or Gold.

We work closely with several community partners to enhance learning opportunities for all. These include Forest School, SoundLab, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Skills Development Scotland.

Rights Respecting School Award

We are currently registered on the journey to achieve the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award. The Convention is an essential part of our whole school values and is at the heart of everything we do. Not only are we fulfilling our role as duty bearers but we are continuously building on our school ethos to fully support all our young people and recognise their rights. LGBT Charter

We are currently working towards the Bronze Award of the LGBT Schools Charter. All staff and young people have contributed to our journey and are committed to ensuring that St Mary’s Kenmure is a safe and inclusive environment for all.
